Default Question about CD'ing

I am really considering cd'ing this time around, however, I am worried about keeping my lo from leaking. How do you keep your little one (lo) from leaking??

This was one of my big concerns when I was thinking about cloth diapering too (it is a valid concern). I have cloth diapered 2 of my babies (and used disposables on my other 2, the older ones). And I have honestly found that cloth diapers leak less than disposables, and I have never had to deal with a newborn blowout with cloth. Cloth diapers have been great for avoiding leaks! The biggest issue is to make sure that the fit is right and that you have the right amount of absorbency. Check Diaper Style, Top rated cloth diapers....Thirsties, Happy Heinys, DryBees, Wahmies. We make Cloth Diapering easy (I just opened the store a few months ago) for more info. I love cloth and highly recommend using it! Good Luck!

I've been thinking about switching to cd'ing in order to help with potty training. I've heard that cd's help the kids feel the wetness more and are then more inclined to use the potty. Has anyone else heard the same or have any experience?

I just had my first 2 babies, and cloth diapering was definitely the way for me--It's a lot cheaper and better for the environment too. Leaks are stopped with diaper covers, they are lined with vinyl-ish material, and keep their clothes from getting wet. You can try Prowraps Brand or Diaperaps.com

If you get a good fit, cloth diapers are great about not leaking. They are very absorbent and baby is not as likely to get diaper rash as with disposables. if you do decide you want to go with disposables but are more of an eco-friendly mom, they do make eco-friendly diapers now. I cant think of the particular brand names off the top of my head right now but I know I have seen them in local stores so Im sure you can find them. If you are interested in more organic/natural baby products I found this book that has helped me a lot called "Healthy Baby Happy Home". Its a guide all about organic/natural baby products and gives name brand recommendations that the author has tried to make it easy for you.

I used Kushies for my LO ...once they got to 12 months old I switched to disposibles simply because once they started eating food the diapers smeled too bad for me to deal with without feeling bad. But I guess back to back pregnanies and MS doesnt help with strong smells.
