An update on us!
I had my 29 week ob appt this week and after complaining of sever pelvic pain from this past weekend (thought it was just my pelvis seperating), and then cramping and some contractions (thought they were braxton hicks since I wasn't spotting), I was put on monitor at the office to see what I was doing. Sure enough, I was having tons of little contractions, and had some large ones too in a 15-20 min time span. I was sent to the birth center and given a shot of terbutaline. It worked for a little bit, but then they came back. So I got another shot. Same deal. Then they gave me an oral dose, watched me for four hours, and they contractions had quieted down enough to send me home, so I got another pill before I left, and am now on bed rest with bathroom privalages. I've been taken off work completely, and have to set my alarm to go off every four hours round the clock, to make sure I remember to take the pill. Its sort of like practice for when the baby comes, right?

The terbutaline makes me a little funny feeling though. I get jittery, my pulse gets faster, but I also will get shaky, which I don't like. I think the shakiness is one of the less common side effects, but is still a side effect. Oh, and either the drug or laying in bed all day is giving me a mild headache.
I dont' think that the terbutaline is working 100% though. I bet before the weekend I end up at the birth center again. I'm still having contractions, especially that last hour before I'm due to take it again. I'll probably call the doctor tomorrow though and see if I can't just increase the dose and keep an eye on it from home.
