Can u tell if its a boy or girl at 12 weeks

I would like to know if a sonogram can tell u what ur having at 12 weeks....This thursday is my second sonogram.

I just had a sonogram today, at 13 1/2 weeks and there was no way to tell. The baby is so small....it will be probably around 18 to 20 weeks to determine gender, is what I was told.

HI:-)

I am coming up 12weeks pregnant and would really love to know the sex of my baby also, but as the lady above mentioned the baby is really small so you are unable to see anything till about 18-20weeks. To me this feels like such a long time to wait, considering at 9 weeks the baby is already starting to grow all the "bits and pieces" it needs to determine the sex:-)(according to many website and books).
But look on the bright side, with christmas just around the corner and the new year those weeks are going to fly by and you will have your answer in no time:-)

I went to have my nuchal fold test done and they did a sonogram. The doctor told me he could tell what I was having..or at least a great guess...and im 12 weeks.
So I dont know. He said boy but Ill let you know after the 20 week scan if he was right

You can certainly tell at 12 weeks depending on the machine and the tech. I know a lot of people who had the NT scan done at 12 weeks and were told. I had my NT scan done 2 weeks ago and she wasn't certain but I went back today at 14 weeks and it was clear as day even though they are so so tiny right now! But I'm also going to a Specialist with the right machine.

i found out at 16 weeks its a boy it all depends on the baby mine sure wanted us to see what he was he opened his legs real big. but as for 12 or thirteen weeks im not sure at your next appt deffently.

Whatever you do make sure that you DON"T go out and buy all blue or all pink this early in the game as they have been wrong in the past.
They told my best friend that she was having a boy...well, Elisabeth is quite NOT a boy!! LOL!!

Yes you can tell especially if it is a boy... they say boy develope a little faster then girls do I was told at 12 weeks I was having a boy of course there is always a percentage to be wrong but then again you will only be a 100% sure when its out..
