Too funny, Petunia. I know exactly what you mean!

Luckily I kept a few of my 'fat' bras and other clothing around so that I have something that fits... sort of... for now. The old bras were a godsend because goodness knows how much bigger they'll get (!!!).

I am a full time figure skating coach, so I know all about trying to hide from students. I've told a couple so far just because there seem to be a few that always seem to catch my mood swings and I felt pretty terrible about it. You would think that hiding a belly would be easy in a ski jacket, but the sweaters required under it make me look HUGE! Generally it just looks like I've gained a ton of weight at the moment, but the belly is definitely starting to stick out more.

I waited until we told our families, but not I think I'm just going to tell my skaters too. I just hope that all of my backup/maternity plans work out (no such thing as maternity leave for the self-employed).

I kept my "fat" bras too, because everyone told me to, but they really didn't work, alas. They are a bigger band size, but so far since getting pregnant I've only gone up in cup size. Finally went to the store yesterday. Good news is that I found a great bra that makes 'the girls' really happy. Bad news is that it cost $60 and the only place I could find my size was a specialty lingerie shop (haven't been to a maternity store yet, as they were further away). I only got one regular bra and one sports bra... I'm not quite sure how I will cope, as I am absolutely terrible at keeping up with my laundry. I may break down and get some more... or now that I know a brand and size that works search online to try and find something cheaper.

Been crying a lot this week... but Tuesday I was particularly mean and ornery... even got in an argument with a teacher of mine--so unlike me, alas.

I hear ya about the self-employed maternity leave... ugh! Good thing for me is that I'm due Thanksgiving Day, and I always take a week off at the end of November for Thanksgiving and two weeks around Christmas/New Years anyway, and tons of students miss lessons in December already for all the parties and school concerts, etc, so I think overall I won't be missing too much income. Not as good of teacher timing as a beginning of summer baby, but overall not too bad.

8 weeks today.. ultrasound this morning, heartbeat at 160! Yay!

So apparently my body is just WAY too excited to be carrying this little bean -- I'm 20 weeks now and have already started leaking colostrum! Boy is THIS going to be a fun 4 months!!!
