Help Anyone have any idea?

**If you don't like to read about poop don't read on ( i didn't talk about it much but some people are easily offended)

Ok, so last night I was utterly EXHAUSTED! At 8:30pm I was like screw it, I am going to bed. Well I found out 2 weeks ago that I am anemic and have been on an iron supplement (anyone who has ever taken iron knows how hard it is to take a poop) So I am sitting on the toilet for at least 15 minutes and I finally finish and wipe...the toilet paper is pink. I thought maybe it was my anus since i had been so constipated but nope...and just to confirm i stuck a q-tip into the opening of my vagina and sure enough that was pink as well. So I called the birth center and it dawned on me "holy crapola I haven't felt my baby move for at least 9 hours!!" So I had to go into the hospital ( at this time I am freaking out because its my first pregnancy and wow) Anyways so I get there and they hook me up to a contraction monitor and fetal hr monitor and I get a lovely vaginal exam...The nurse pulls her fingers out and they are covered in brownish gunk which she says is old blood and discharge. Then she proceeds to tell me that my cervix is super soft like jelly, but I am still closed and long. which I know that long means I am not effaced and closed means not dialated...but what is this jelly like cervix business?? The nurse says I am way to early for that to be happening ( I am only 27 weeks) Should I be concerned? is a soft jelly like cervix the same as a ripe cervix? My fetal fibronectin was negative, but that only predicts 2 weeks in advance. Am I freaking out for no reason? Anyways she said the blood was from my cervix being so soft, and that I could go home. Any advice would be greatly appreciated even if you aren't really sure what to tell me, haha anything would be nice to hear at the moment. thanks
