Boy, that is confusing. I once took three tests in a row, two positive and one negative. Turns out I wasn't pregnant when I had a blood test done. I'd maybe wait a couple more days and then take another test. Have you scheduled an appointment with your doctor?

With both my 2 previous pregnancy's, I had negative results from hpt's at 4 - 6 weeks. First preg I even had neg blood test at 5 weeks but was indeed pregnant. Only explanation, i guess, is that I must produce much lower hcg levels then the 'norm' .

my first test was a positive one but very faint, I think I waited a week and re did the test and it was a definate positive. I have been told that a positive is always a positive no matter how faint.

Somewhere around week 4, I was fairly certain so did a home pregnancy test which turned out to be positive, but faint. I went to the clinic to make sure and their urine test came back negative, so they sent me for a blood test. I was SURE I was pregnant so I took another home test and it was positive too.
The next day I went to my doctor and they called for the results of my blood test. Turns out I was pregnant, but only a VERY little bit (my hormone levels were barely at 20. 450 is average), so they told me to come back the following week (the next WEEK?!?!?! Like I could wait that long!!!) for another blood test. I agonized all that week but managed to wait until Wednesday, went for the blood test and waited... again. I called on Friday and they told me that my levels were at 750 and increasing nicely. Finally!
I went from being pregnant to not pregnant to pregnant to maybe pregnant all in 24 hours! Ugh!

I've heard of this happening sooo many times. It's normal, it depends on the hcg levels in our body. Some women have to wait til they're like 5-6 weeks before getting a positive. At 4 weeks with my first daughter I got a positive right away (at the gyn's office) and with my second daughter I tested at least 3-4 times before getting that very dark positive lol. When I first tested I was probably around 3.5 weeks or maybe even 4 weeks and it was sooooo faint like you had to hold it up to the light to see it. I kept telling my husband that I just KNEW I was pregnant and it bothered me because he would tell me there's no line and I just KNEW there was. So I retested the next day and it was still faint but a little darker than the previous test, and I remember fourth of July I tested and it was definitely a positive. He was at work when I tested and I called him and told him that I'm officially pregnant. So it takes some time in some women. I may be pregnant myself but I can't test til the middle of April because it's way too soon.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure you're pregnant...obviously they detected hcg hormones in your body. Congrats and good luck!!!

If a faint positive line shows up AFTER the time limit is up for taking your pregnancy test, it could be an evaporation line. If you have a faint positive line within the time frame, maybe wait 2 days and take the test again (preferably first thing in the morning). Check out this article for more info on interpreting pregnancy tests:
