Red face post gastric bypass and pregnant

ok well this is something that may cover two diffrent areas, but since I am one person experencing multiple issuses I thought it would be better to do so here. I am 29 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. My son was born 11 years ago. I am 4 years post-op from a gastric bypass surgery, and have had cervical cancer twice. Now i am experiencing low blood sugar, that even occured during a blood glucose tolerance test. My target was between 70 and 110, but it came back at 60. I was told that I need to eat every half hour to forty-five minutes, a small lite snack, and keep something high in sugar near me at all times. Anyone who has had bypass surgery, or has been invovled in it one way or another knows that high concentrated sugar does to your body, and how painful it is. Mentally the weight gain hasn't been hard on me, but the weight loss that I've been experiencing has been. I lost 26lbs since the begining of this pg, and have recently put on 10lbs...all in my belly.I look like I swallowed a basketball If anyone else has had these problems or knows anything about these please let me know.

Thank you,
Lynda

Hi Lynda, how are your sugars doing? Have they told you if you have any scar tissue on your cervix from the cancer or any surgeries? I had a cone last year for CINIII and it is the suspected culprit for my preterm labor. It has also caused some scar tissue which is keeping me from dilating ironically enough. So it has caused this problem, but it also is helping the problem! lol From what I've read I will need to have the tissue broken before I will dilate... Do you have experience with this from your first or has this all happened since him?

Welcome aboard, and good luck!

I also had gastro 10 yrs ago and suffered with sugar and low iron. b4 gastro i was diabetic and after it went away, however I have to monitor. For my iron I have iron transfusions monthly which helps everything else and has been the biggest help with this pregnancy.
