Default preterm labor

Anyone out there? I'm on bedrest for going into preterm labor on 10/28. I was placed on turb every 4 hours, but went back into labor on 10/31. I was then put on magnesium sulfate IV for 24 hours and given 2 steriod shots. They were able to stop the contractions and I was put on procardia 2x a day. The procardia has since been increased to 3x a day, and I think I'm just about at the max dosage for it... I only have one more week before I hit the magical 34 week mark. I will be on bedrest for at least another three weeks. I get to come off my meds at 36 weeks.

Default Re: preterm labor

Hey there!
I went into premlabour at 32 weeks with my son. Contractions were only 20 mins. apart so they gave me some demerol and sent me home the next morning. They said to come back if the contractions got closer. I started my mat leave at that point, so I didn't have to go on bed rest, just told to take it easy. Two weeks later 34 weeks, the contractions went to every 5 mins. Again I was back in the hospital, they tried morphine and gravol again sent me home the next day and said to come in if they got even closer (like 5 mins apart is far or something lol). It was a week later that I went back in because they felt different (more back labour). I stayed for three days, was sent home because I wasn't dilating, then went back in after continuous contractions for a total of 9 days before they broke my water at 36 weeks!
Phewww...lol. My son did have a leak in his lung so he had to stay in the NICU for a week and a day, but you would never know he's early! Good luck, and enjoy these last few quiet weeks!! This pic is when he was 10 days old!
