I say that you can spell the names you choose any way you like. It's especially helpful, if you use a classic name, to have a little fun with the spelling. I feel it makes your child more unique. By the time they have to explain the spelling, it will be natural to them, and believe me, if anyone gets it wrong, they WILL gladly correct them.

I have a boy named Jade Tyler, a girl names Emma Lee Paige, and a girl named Larah (laura) Shayne.

They are all quite fond of their names, AND their spellings.

In the event we have a boy, here are the names we have chosen so far.

1. Damon Richard
2. Dominic Richard

Sorry all names are NMS. I am pretty firm on spellings, and to me, these would be confusing for a child. Sorry.

I have to disagree with you on the statement about confusing children. I think the adults would be more confused than the child. The child will learn the name from the beginning, so I don't think it would confuse him/her. I don't think the spellings are that off the wall, not like some name spellings I've seen that I can't even pronounce.

I will definately not use the following spelling for girls...

Kiley Jay (the spellings are too boyish)

Ray (the y in Ray is too boyish)

We've decided on this spelling for our baby girls...

Kiely Jae (pronounced Kylee Jay)

Ally Rae (pronounced Alley Ray)

We have a daughter named Emily and wanted to use "ly" for all the girls.

Thank you, I think you are right. They get used to the spelling of their names.
My name is Krystal and I constantly have to tell people it's Krystal with a "K". I get the same thing with my last name, most people think it starts with a "K", but I have to tell them it's a "C". We all adapt. It never confused me one bit growing up, and it doesn't bother me that I have to tell people about the spelling.

p.s. your kids names are cute
