My brendan was only 6 lbs and 4 oz and I still don't know why I had trouble pushing him out I was 'begging for a c-section - but the doctor told me it was too late for that -cut me and vaccummed my boy out which I hope I don't have to end up with a 'vaccum ' again because I do not want to risk that again because after i had my boy vaccummed I read of the vaccumm horror stories & that made me go omg so I don't want to use a vacumm again .

OMG I have heard some scary vac stories too. I'm so glad things worked out well for you though!!!

nathans.mom - time has flown! It gets more amazing to me every June, how old he would be...and how big! Some years are better than others. My DD has helped me in a lot of ways. Not so much a "replacement" but, letting me know I could complete the entire task of having a baby and everything be ok! My 9mos with her was me wishing I could have her already so I know she was going to be alright.

two of mine were pos or posterior or face up delivered okay had episiotomy full 1st bad dr choice then partial the 2nd...my third was regular and my fourth was sideways and turned as i pushed which only took 11 min from my water breaking....scary what can happen that is why i like to be w a dr in a hospital for the just in case my first 2 i had a wonderful epidural experience in california........my next two i had without meds even though i begged they figure they can't get sued in canada and don't care ....i would never recommend a natural childbirth wo epidural......i never knew pain that bad existed the best comparism i've ever heard come close might be chainsawing your legs off slowly....i am unexpectively preg again and due in june strongly considering an elective c i don't trust canada and don't want to go through that nightmare again i felt a more part of the birth with an epidural and a mirror i could watch the baby come out and enjoy it......in canada i was never offered a mirror and had to even wait fully dialated and in pain unable to breathe through contractions i had to wait an hour there was no dr avail and no nurse offering i started pushing on my own no longer able to hold back and the dr barely made it to catch my son i looked to see that he was a boy another thing denied to know the sex at st boniface hospital in canada...even though i asked its against hospital policy........very scarednever was before my 3rd

I heard about it just before my dd was born in February this year. It scared the c--p out of me because I never heard about it before. Even while I was in labour I did think about it but in the end I had an emergency c-section and if we have another one I'll probably have another c-section.

I'm so sorry you experienced it and lost your little one, Jamie. Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention. I hope something good can come out of something so horrible.

Hugs,
Heather

Jamie, thankyou so much for your post. It is good to know the dangers, and I know certainly in that situation I would just ask them to get on with delivering the baby even risking a broken collar bone or arm. My eldest came out arms first then we discovered the cord was twice round his neck and although he was fine I realise it could easily have gone the other way.

When I was about to deliver, I got all the fears a women can get. Good thing I did the natural way. If ever I'll get pregnant again, I will acquire insurance.
