Default Re: tailbone dislocation

My daughter dislocated my tailbone during her vaginal delivery, and it took almost a year to "heal" to the point where just sitting didn't hurt. When I got pregnant the second time, my ob (and everyone in L&D at the hospital) assured me that I was worrying for nothing and that it hardly hardly ever happens again...so I decided to delivery vaginally. Near the end of the pushing, a huge pop was loud enough for everyone to hear as my son dislocated it AGAIN on his way out! The good news is that it healed much faster (in a mere four months) but the bad news is that it CAN happen twice! Now I'm pregnant with my 3rd child, and I'm 99% sure I'll have a cesarean because the prospect of going through a dislocated tailbone again is terrifying! I had an xray when my daughter was about a year old, and they said there was nothing that could be done, surgically or otherwise, with the exception of taking medication.

My heart goes out to you! Good luck and congratulations

Good thing I didn't experience that the moment I delivered my baby. I will pray for your recovery.
