I was 37 years old too when I was first pregnant..the baby just turned 10 months old Because he was our first and because we weren't sure if we would have other kids we decided to bank our bay's cord blood with the CORD BLOOD REGISTRY (CBR). We don't regret it for an instant and see it as added health insurance for the health of our baby. We also didn't so much bank for all the diseases cord blood cells could cure today but for all the diseases it may cure tomorrow...science and medicine advance every day and you never know. I also see common in lots of pregnancy and parenting forum threads cost being a concern. CBR offers several payment plans and if you checkout Home you wil learn about their payment plans, their gift registry - kinda like setting up a gift registry on BRU (Babies R Us), and the discount code for $250 off the fee - M5470. Because of my age I had to get genetic counseling since after 35 you are a higher risk. So DH and I don't regret for an instant having spent the money (well spent) to bank our son's cord blood and if we have another baby, we'll bank again with CBR. Take care and the best to you!!!
