Comment 37 years old and first time mommy

Hi ladies! My name is Heather and I am 37 years old and just found out that I'm going to be a mommy for the very first time. I had begun to believe and even accept the fact that I would never have a child of my own, and then BAM! I was a more than a little shocked because this was definitely not planned since the baby's father is not even divorced yet (only separated) and since he didn't even want more kids because he already has 2 girls. But anyway.....that's a moot point now because he IS going to be a daddy again regardless of what he WANTS. Well I need to go get ready for church. But I look forward to meeting all of you.

I am 36 and just found out yesterday that I am pregnant AGAIN. I was under the impression that it would take a miracle for me to get pregnant again. I guise God has a sick sense of humor cause his is baby # 7 for me and he has three kids already so this is actually baby # 10. For our family. Merry Christmas to us.

HI all
I am Michelle and I am 38 and pregnant for the third time, but the other two ended in miscarriage. I am a freakin nervous wreck! I am trying to be excited and happy but a huge part of me keeps telling me not to be. I am just so scared of that first u/s. Everytime I pee I look for the next sign of a miscarriage.

On a happy note (I guess) I have all the right symptoms, which I did not get before. I pee constantly, I am so exhausted it is not funny, yet I wake up at 4 am and cannot go back to sleep, I have the sorest boobs and terrible gas pains. So I guess I should be happy! LOL. Oh yeah, and today I think I had my first bout of morning sickness, I was queasy all day until I ate some lunch, yuck, terrible feeling.

Michelle

Hey all,
I am 37 and 33 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. My youngest son is about to turn 7 and I just know that this pregnancy has been the hardest for me. I think the older you are the harder it is on your body. I developed gestational diabeties in my 6th month and now the doctor is talking c-section because the baby is so big even though I am now down to my pre-pregnancy weight thanks to the diabetic diet that I am on. Thank God it will all be over soon. Good luck to all!

Hi Lorraine.

Good luck with the delivery and these last few weeks!

I too am a gestational diabetes mommy. I am not currently pregnant, but did have GD with both pregnancies.

My first pregnancy was at age 34 ( in vitro) and thru diet and exercise I managed to deliver a 6lb 12 oz healthy baby girl. Unfortunately, she was breach basically the entire pregnancy and so she was a c-section baby. I delivered her 3-weeks before my 35th birthday.

I was 37 when I delivered by son. Again, I developed GD. This time I did not do as well as with my daughter and needed Glyburide to help manage my fasting (night time) blood sugar. My day time sugars were good, but I was not exercising near enough and frankly, not eating as well the 2nd time around (LOL) with toddler in tow!

I attempted a VBAC with my son, but that 8lb 8oz linebacker would not budge, so alas, a 2nd c-section!

I truly LoVE the diabetic diet and really feel better anytime that I am on it; not just when pregnant. Greatest thing was when all my girlfriends were gaining when while pregnant, I was losing! I always joke that I'm the only woman I know that leaves the hospital weighing LESS than her pre-pregnancy weight after delivery! Ha Ha!

Good luck to you!
