Default Afternoon naps

Hi ladies,

At the ripe old age of 10 months, my dd has decided she no longer needs morning or afternoon naps.

What I've been doing is keeping her awake until 11:30 and if I'm lucky she sleeps an hour.... Sometimes, a half hour is all she sleeps all day!!!

She does seem to get tired early in the morning but if I put her down, she still won't sleep. she's just miserable!!!

I don't think she is hungry:
8 oz bottle of formula at 7:30
toast with peach puree at 9:00
Juice at 10
Lunch of cereal, fruit or vege at 11:00

She basically eats every 2 hours or so until she goes bed at 7.

She'll sleep even worse if we are out during the day. She sleeps about 12 hours at night for which we're thankful....

Any suggestions? I would've thought a 10 month old would need to nap a couple of hours during the day. Maybe not?

My DD was the same way ~ we just got rid of her afternoon nap ~ She's 3 now and she still goes to bed around 8:00PM and on weekends will wake up as late as 9:00AM!!

Count your blessings!!

Maybe it's just a phase? Around 11 months, my son went through a phase where he was trying to figure out if he wanted 2 naps, 1 nap, or none. It was a rough couple of weeks, but now he goes to bed at 7:30, wakes up at 7am, and takes a nap around 11:30 for 2-3 hours. But he's also super busy during the day. From playtime at the gym, storytime, and playdates, he's exhausted by 11:30!
