Default Swaddle confusion

Iam a new mommy and not sure on alot of what to do. My son (Brett) is going to be 3mo march 8th and he loves to be swaddled to sleep. But he keeps breaking through and either gets his hands out and touching his face or he gets them out at the bottom. I woke up once and the swaddle was around his neck cause of him breaking through the bottom. It makes me really nervious and i want to start him in his crib soon but im scared that the swaddle might be unsafe. Do you think that is a sign he is ready to sleep without or should i just stop the swaddleing?

Try swaddling him from the waist down. I started doing that for my son around 3 months and it worked. It takes a few nights for their arms to get used to not being swaddled in (so he might wave them around and possibly wake up), but I found my son sleeps better with the waist swaddle than nothing at all. Just be sure it's tucked under properly - it shouldn't get loose - and if it does, it's not near his face.
