Default Sleepless Nights

I have an 8 month old daughter and she is still waking around 2 times per night!
she was sleeping through before xmas and then it all changed due to going over seas on holiday and with teething.
I am currently breast feeding her and have made the mistake of feeding her when she wakes as she goes straight back to sleep. which was probably not the right thing to do but as you can imagine I am very tired and was just taking the easiest option to get her back to sleep so I could then get some sleep myself.
I now need to change this pattern. (I have to add she was terible when we first go back from holiday and was waking around 5 times a night) I was hoping it would sort its self out in time and it has gotten better but she should be sleeping all night long!

I need to mention she wont take a bottle or dummy and is very vocal if she wakes and I don't feed her she screams for a long long time.

not really sure where to go from here as I need to get this sorted or it will just carry on and on.

Any surgestions would be much appreciated.

thanks

Default Re: Sleepless Nights

I have got this problem sorted out now. I can't believe i didn't do it sooner.
I tried the controlled crying technique and the first night left Georgie to cry for 10 min.
(although in the dead of the night it seems like much longer than that) then I would go in an calm her down with a cuddle untill she was not as up set then put her back down for another 12 min each time I would increase the time by 2 mins. This went on for nearly an hour and I felt very mean! But she finally went back to sleep.
I though that this would go on for around 3 - 5 days till she would sleep through by herself. But the next few nights she has not woken once and is sleeping all night long.
which is wonderful to get a full nights sleep.
Can't believe it only took one night, what a good wee girl.
