Question Confused, don't know how I could be....but hopeful

Just a bit confused, husband and I were TTC for almost two years. I was scheduled to have an Hysteroscopy, Perhydrotubatian (to see if there was blockage) in 10 days. I had to do blood work and urine test today, 10 days before surgery. Get a call from the Doctor within an hour saying that the test came back positive ! Took a home test tonight, and it says the same thing. BUT I did all those "when did you conceive" calculators and looked at my charts for the last month. Due to illness and work, there were only two possible days for conception since my last period (I'm 5 -7 days overdue for this one) and neither of those is anywhere near where the calculators say I would have been ovulating or when I was likely to conceive.... I have an appointment to confirm pregnancy next week...but am wondering if there's a likelihood of a false positive, I have no other symptoms besides some cramping (which I thought was the pre-menstrual kind).... Anyway sorry for the long first post, we are very excited, but as I am 35 and this is my first, all sorts of worries are popping up for me too, which is probably why I'm getting kerfuffled by this conception date discrepancy.... anyway any thoughts appreciated....
