I am a new mum and I was feeling the same scared as of course you don't know what to expect. It definatly is hard work but my labour was great well as far as the whole birth experience goes. I was feeling really anxious and scared during the contractions and felt like I was going to freak out but your body is designed to handle it. You will be fine. The best advise I got at the time was from my midwife who kept reminding me not to focus on the contractions but focus on the break! this really help me get through it.
I had a natural birth, no drugs and at the end just think that you will have a wonderful gorgeous little baby which makes it all worth while and you soon forget the pain.

hope all goes well and try to not think about it too much.

Fear is not the way to go into labor! Don't give in to fears, think positively. I believe what everyone needs is the power from above that we get thru trust in God. I just gave birth to my first born in April, at home, with no midwife or doctor, & totally naturally. My husband delivered the baby & all was well. I had a couple weeks of on & off labor practice, went 12 days overdue & baby came when God saw everything was ready. He was born after 12 hours of good labor, part of which i spent in the water. I only pushed for 20 minutes, & my water broke on it's own 30 minutes before he was born. The water not breaking or being broken by someone helps cushion the contractions.
Trust & peace is a real key. If you do not have that it will be a scary experience. If you do not know God, get to know Him in the Bible, pray & trust & take care of the body & baby he has given you & He will help you through.
Not every couple will have a birth like I did, but every woman needs to find peace in her soul so that she can go thru life regardless what happens without a cloud of fear over her! Ride above the fears of life by having faith in God!
